Sponsor for the parent visa

  • If the person sponsors his parents, then he should have a minimum salary of AED 20,000.

  • The sponsor has to provide proof to the state that he/she is the only supporter of his/her parents. He/she also has to show that no one in the native country can take care of the parents.
  • Firstly, the entry permit will be given to the parents, and after that, the permanent residency visa is granted to the parents.
  • The applicants have to renew the residency visa every year.

Applying for the entry visa of the UAE

Firstly, the sponsor has to apply for the entry permit of the parents. When the parents enter the UAE, they can apply for the permanent residency after two months stay in the UAE.

Necessary Documents for Entry Permit

  1. The first requirement is the filling of the application form. You can fill the application form online as it is an easy method and also save your precious time. The sponsor submits the form.
  2. Get your documents to type from the typing center and receive your application form. This form will require the fees.
  3. The sponsor (Child) has to submit the original passport of the parents.
  4. The person must attach three passport size photographs of the applicants with a white background of the photo. The picture must show eighty percent of the face. Size of the photograph must be six by six cms. It means pixels must be minimum 600 by 600.
  5. The Sponsor must submit the salary certificate if he/she is the government employee.
  6. In case of the sponsor is not the government employee, he/she must provide the attested job contract with the private firm. The GDRFA requires the salary certificate for the proof of the salary of the sponsored child.
  7. The sponsor has to provide proof to the GDRFA that he/she is the legal child and only supporter of his/her parents. He/she also has to show that no one in the native country can take care of the parents.

The process of the visa

  1. First, take the medical check-up of the applicants (parents) from the authorized hospital.
  2. Get your documents to type from the typing center and receive your application form. Fees of the form are AED 100.
  3. Now, you have to submit the application form of the residency visa and the relevant documents such as the passport, medical certificate, documents of the sponsor such as the proof of the salary and the accommodation proof, etc to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai (GDRFA).
  4. You should also attach the request letter for the entry permit of your parents.
  5. The Approval Committee will decide about the approval of the entry permit of the parents, and you will know the results within 14 days.
  6. The person will get the entry permit on approval in 2 days, but if the person has applied for the emergency entry permit, then the person will get the permit in less time.
  7. You have to submit AED 2,000 in the case when the rejection of the visa occurs. It is a refundable fee.
  8. The application fee is AED 110, and the sponsor has to submit this fee.

Getting the residency visa

When the sponsor has applied for the entry permit of the parents, then after the entry of parents in the UAE, the person can apply for the permanent residency after two months stay of the parents in the UAE.

Mandatory documents for a residency visa for parents

  1. The first requirement is the filling of the application form. The sponsor has to submit the application form at GDRFA.
  2. The Sponsor must submit the salary certificate if he/she is the government employee.
  3. In case of the sponsor is not the government employee, he/she must provide the attested job contract with the private firm. The GDRFA requires the salary certificate for the proof of the salary of the sponsor which is at least AED 20,000.

  8. A deposit receipt is also mandatory with the documents of the residency visa of the parents. It is refundable in case of the rejection of the permit.

The process of the residency visa of the parents

  5. The sponsor will receive the residency passports when approved through Empost.

Fees of the residency visa

  1. Every year the person has to renew the visa so that costs will be AED110.
  2. You have to pay extra typing fees for the residency visa each year.
  3. In case of the emergency application of the residency visa, the fees are AED 100.
  4. Empost fees are AED 10.
