Family Visa for the USA

Sponsoring your family to acquire permanent residence in the United States of America follows more or less the same procedure. However, there are some differences between each kind of family-based visa.

Most importantly, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services must authorize the immigrant visa petition. You must submit the required docs including the proof of your relationship with the family members. Once you provide the authorities with all the necessary documents with the visa petition, the immigration (family based) process will begin after the approval.

Depending upon the visa category for which you apply, the state department will see if the visa number is available or not.

Once the visa number is available for the applicant, the US-based relative should apply for changing his status to a legal permanent resident of the United States of America.

Here it is important to mention that the Family Visa for the USA is a non-immigrant temporary visa. It permits the citizens to sponsor their family, fiancée or spouse to come and stay with them in the United States on a temporary basis.

The eligible parents, children, siblings and spouses of the permanent residents can also be allowed to apply for family-based Green Card.
